Given our collective enthusiasm for environmental issues and interest in cars (well, some of us!), it's no surprise that some of the Newenglish Design team were eager visitors to LCV2011 and Ecovelocity last week. LCV2011 was held at a windy Rockingham Speedway and brought together companies involved in low carbon vehicles and fleet carbon reduction; whilst Ecovelocity was a motor show with a difference held under the iconic Battersea Power station, showcasing the electric vehicles of the future and giving the public the opportunity to test drive cars, motorcycles and segways. Both events were thought-provoking and it'll be interesting to see how the industry develops over the coming years and how consumers are inceitvised to take the low carbon/electric vehicles route.
Amongst all of the interesting concepts and products at LCV2011, Charging Solutions stood out with their solar panelled car shelter that would charge an electric car in 8 hours and charging station designed into street lighting. At Ecovelocity, you couldn't help but love the classic Peel car, admire the classy designs of the sports cars from Lightning GT and Evelio and be impressed be the innovative features of the iMav including head up display and reskinning options.
