ProjectInterior design & signage
The BriefH&R are always complemented for their high standard of customer service, and for their product offering. Their new brand has changed the public face of the company, and it was time to roll this new style out to their branch interiors and signage. The interior spaces needed to reflect the overall ethos of H&R, giving the assurance that their customers are in safe pair of hands. The changes also needed to show that H&R are a professional organisation that is moving with the times.
The ThinkingBuilding on the creative development of the brand, we wanted the Hinckley & Rugby interiors to have a 'traditional modern' feel. Each of the branches is uniquely designed but features the same stylistic approach. The 'real people' imagery used throughout the literature is featured in each branch, with a feature wall of one of the images used on a large scale. The branches are laid out to have separate type of seating areas that use individual furniture styles in fresh, sophisticated and calm colours. We took an environmentally friendly approach to the existing counters (which are very solid) by re-cladding the existing structures which saved on waste but achieved the finish we were looking for. Each counter has a digital screen, providing an engaging method of promotion for key products and services. The window displays use innovative and energy efficient edge-lit LED's – meaning passers by can read the literature even when it's dark. Our strategic approach to the interiors meant that the changes could happen with minimal disruption. Each branch only had to be closed for 5 days maximum, which H&R were very pleased about.
The ResultH&R have had many of their customers for decades, and were delighted when feedback from their longest standing customers was enthusiastic. Their customers have been so excited about the changes, and feedback shows that the branches have become spaces that they look forward to visiting. H&R have a forward thinking Board of Directors, and in taking this step they have communicated a message of confidence in Hinckley & Rugby, for now and for the future.
Newenglish came up with innovative and ingenious ideas that meant there was no major construction work involved, reducing both costs and timescales without compromising the overall effect of the rebrand. Staff and customers alike are absolutely delighted with the new look which has given the Society a bold, contemporary look and revitalised its tired branches.Marketing & PR Manager, Hinckley & Rugby Building Society
